    hi,

i have a serious gag reflex when wearing a gum shield. I can last about 10 seconds with it in my mouth before i feel like gagging. Does anyone know of a solution to this?

Don't have any medical knowledge about it but it used to happen to me too. I just cut off a bit from each end of the gum shield so that it didn't go back as far and that solved the problem.

cheers for the reply, would it be ok to trim it so that it might not reach as far back as the rear teeth?

Well, if you just cut a small bit off the gum shield I wouldn't think that you would be losing much protection. It tends to be your front teeth that gum shields protect isn't it? A the same time I wouldn't want to tell you anything for definite in case you go out and get your back teeth knocked out ;)
