Got up early this morning to get some shots of the frost and fog. Turned out to be more foggy than I thought, which spoilt things to a degree.

Hard to know what to shoot when you can only see 10feet in front of you. Here's what I came up with. All taken with my 400d, and the crappy 18-55 kit lense. Quite happy with the results...

Taken at Swords IDA Business Park and Malahide Estuary.

    Hi Mark,

Some decent shots there, well done. The three "experimental shots" at the end don't quite work for me, though I could imagine B/W and loads of contrast might be different.

BTW don't mind reports of the 18-55 being crap, I got a lot decent shots with it when I had it.

Some really nice stuff there. While the kit lens can be very hit and miss,it is possible to get good shots with it,as you have proven. It also makes you appreciate a good lens when you one, like learning to play on a crappy guitar. When you fianlly get a good instrumnet , all the stuff you've learnt becomes much easier, and produces far better results.

thank you for the nice comments. I am really only beginning with the digital SLR - I only have it a few months and have limited time to play with it. I'm pretty sure that at this stage I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between a good lense and a bad one, but I do look forward to the day when I do and I take that step.

    Thanks again

Some of the shots of trees are really interesting.

    Nice work!
