With the launch of the PS3 in Europe next month i'm reading on the net there might be issues with playing PAL games on an NTSC PS3. The whole 50/60Hz issue. As i have an NTSC PS3 i was wondering will PAL games actually play ?

and yes, there could easily be NTSC/PAL compatibility problems, I just exaggerated them a little

There will be no problem. The PS3 can output both PAL/NTSC

Just like it's power is 110-240v

All pal games will work on your NTSC console, and it should only matter if you are running at Standard Definition anyway.

At 720p/1080i/1080p There simply is NO PAL/NTSC as it is a fixed resolution and it will be 60hz your using and is the same regardless of where you are.

Like the majority of Pal 360 titles which are PAL 60hz, expect most PS3 games to be PAL 60hz only too. That way the difference between both NTSC & PAL is negligable and to do with the colour frequency and not difference in the quantity of lines and hz.

Basically your fine - stop worrying over nothing.
