    Hi folks,
I guess its time I made an effort and put up some shots for C&C :o
These were all taken today on a walk with herself around the Shannon near UL with our 350D with a mixture of 18-55mm kit lens, 50mm f1.8 II (sometimes with Kenko extension tubes) and kit 55-200mm USM lens.

    Oh and a crappy tripod!

I like the wing tips here as the swan splashes along in ground effect. I did some minor burning to bring out the tip feathers.

This one had some nasty chromatic aberration (to be expected with the 55-200 kit :( ) so I tried a B&W conversion...

Here is an ID tag of some sort stapled to one of the trees on the river bank, Its a bit soft around the edges but I kinda like it.

And finally some random padlock I spotted hanging on a railing. I did a bit of burning around the brass to pretty iy up a bit.

So that's them, be gentle! :)

The black and white looks better by far :]

B/W looks good and like the motion blur in the BG.

    Thanks guys,
I'm still trying to find a good method for composing shots, I still feel I'm just taking snaps.

I prefer the B&W too, nice action shot. I'd crop it though. The swan is almost slap bang in the center of the frame, so I'd probably lose some of the water below and crop to a panoramic format, also ideally, the swan would be a bit more to the left, which is of course very easy for me to say :)

I like the tag image as well, the restrained colours appeal to me. I might try burning a bit around the edges of the frame to darken them
