The gf accidentally spilt a glass of water on her laptop and in a moment of panic, picked it up with her hand grabbing the display and now 1/4 of the screen is gone mush. (irony is the water doesnt seem to have had any effect on it!!)

any advice on where she should go to get it fixed? Its a dell. also how can she make the screen smaller so that her display is only showing in the working area?
    Thanks

Oh dear, she has my sympathies.
I did something similar, but it was tea and a Gateway. The whole screen went very dark but could be viewed from an extreme angle. Pressoing keys worked so I managed to back up most of the stuff. I was glad I did as it went into a decline and pegged out completely the next day.
