    Hi

I am looking to buy the Yamaha YSP 1100 / YSP 1000 or the Denon S 301.

    - Any users of the same out there who can tell me which would be a better choice ( and nopes, I dont have enough room for a 5.1 system which would be better!).

    - Any suggestions on where to buy from in Dublin.

    Thanks in advance.

The yamaha 1100 seems newer, with more sound profiles on it. (I presume you mean the 900 because yamaha don't list a 1000 model).

I saw the 900 on sale in DID last week.

Bermuda you could try Harvey Normans aswell. I think the price is around 8 r 9 hundred for the 1100...i may be wrong with the price but they definitely sell them. Cheers

    Hi steve-hosting36,
Am looking to pick up a ysp-4000 from either UGotaDeal.com or time2envy.com (both US). Prices quoted from $1029 to $1109. A couple of questions if I may:
Who did you go to to get your ysp-4000 and how much did you spend?
Postage around EUR 60 or so?
Did you have to pay VAT and Import duty and if so how much were they?

Really keen to hear how you went about bringing the kit in as I reckon spending €1599 or stg 1199 is pretty steep.

    Regards,

    Rua

    hey rua

I used ugotadeal - comms & service excellent and I saved at least 500 euro. Didn't get stung for duty or anything and delivery was super fast.

Only 'gotcha' was the 110v psu - needed to get a decent converter in peats ( 50 quid )

Just got delivery of my YSP-4k last week. It really is a sweet machine and the tone and performance on 5 beam is superb. You will be looking over your shoulder to see where the sound is coming from.

If you have the wads, buy this from the States and you'll save 500/600 quid on the Irish price.

Congrats Rua - did you pair yours with a sub yet? (makes a world of difference!)

Nah, mate, I'd be gelded if I spent any more cash on AV gear! I also bought the Viera 50" and the 250GB Sony RDR over Christmas.

I just need to get a decent "ladies" film with action sequences (Zorro springs to mind - anyone any other ideas?) and explain that it would be even better if I put in a sub.

Or maybe I'll just quit while I'm ahead...

:) Know what you mean :) Sounds like you've a great set-up there..

... I might as well mention that Peats have these - http://www.yamaha-uk.com/speakers_subwoofers/?product_id=187&Subcategory_ID=20 - in and they work really well with the ysp - and are ony 150 quid ;)
