instead of sitting in on this glorious day and watching rugby on tv, i went down to belfield bowl and took the camera to ucd v shannon ; never really taken rugby photos before , so rather than get lashed out by the experts on the photo forum , i wonder what some of the rugby experts think !

4 photos on the first page of my flickr

so glad i went to this match today - I thought it was one of the best matches ive seen for quite some time. The Three UCD tries were spectacles in themselves - full of technical abilty from 1-15, lineout to 4 - caught at fingertips, brought down perfectly for scrum half who delivers it on a plate to 10, 11 comes inside makes a 30m break, goes through 3 offloads, eventually goes to ground and quick ball and a scissors and trytime.
Also the shannon 3rd try was much the same, scintillating stuff great to see that standard game at this level. also Johnny wilkinson eat your heart out, not one missed kick for either team i count 8/8. 6 tries 2 penalties not one missed chance, shame there were only about 60 people to see it...

I really like the 'pace' one. What kind of camera do you use?

its a Nikon d 50 -- i was surprised at the quality of ucd , i thought shannon would blow them away , but ucd ran the ball a lot better -- although shannon were tougher up front as expected , although ucd put it up to them -- glorious day for rugby .
