Just caught the last few minutres of the last word on Today Fm and they appear to be talking about banning smoking in the home. Has someone actually made a serious proposal on this?

I do not think so. The comments wer taken out of context according to the guy on the last word.
He would like to see it banned in common areas in apartments etc... No smoking in hallways etc!
There is no way to enforce a ban in the home.
However it should be completely banned in the home of anyone who has a child as far as i am concerned. I would like them banned all together... or at least priced so high they are not worth it. Sorry i just cant stand the smell! I love the smoking ban here :D Not to mention how illogical it is.

OK that makes abit more sense.

I hate smoking myself don't allow it in the house by agreement with the missus who does smoke. But I think a ban on smoking in the home would have been OTT apart from the impossibility of being able to enforce it.

Jeez, what an idea, even if that's all it is.

People making their own decisions about whether they smoke or don't in their own homes is one thing, but legislating for it?

    Nanny state gone mad!

One of these days they'll ban sex on the basis that someone could get hurt, or catch an STD, or whatever.

40 years later ... ooops!!

(OK, I'm exaggerating to make a point, but ...!)
