charged to much tax at the end of 2004

    i was charged emeergency tax for about 10 weeks work at the end of 2004. can i reclaim this and how do i go about doing this

    Cant see this as being personal issue, but go to the revenue give them your p60 and theyll post out a check in a few days.

    I sorted out my PAYE payments for 2006 by ringing the Revenue up on Monday and saying "I think I shouldn't have paid any tax last year as I made less than my tax credits for the year"

    The nice lady on the phone said she would look into it for me.

    I got a big cheque yesterday in the post.

    will they be able to look it up for me if i ring the revenue

    The phone number for them is in the phone book in the middle pages or you can get it from their website revenue.ie

    They should be able to look it up for you so long as you have your pps number to give them.

    At the very least they'll be able to advise you on how to go about it.
