Ok, when I seen a new 'Heroes' forum I assumed it was a place for nerds to discuss who'd win in a fight between Batman and Spiderman, but evidently it's a TV show. So, whats it about, when/where is it shown, how good is it?

Also heros is very good, give it a go, if you like sci-fi stuff you'll probably enjoy it.

It's very good. It's about a group of ordinary people who begin to discover they have abilities. They have some sort of shared destiny but there are others who want to use them for their own ends.

The above is a cheap description - you owe it to yourself to watch. The range of characters, and their abilities, is one of the selling points of the show for me.

As to it being "sci fi" - don't think of it like that. It's the most successful new show in the US and, in terms of getting particular target marketing groups, it's one of the most successful shows full stop and well deserved.

And if a certain user decides at this point to babble about how much better a certain other new show is, do not let it influence you in any way in checking this one.

You relay don't like me much do you ixoy, the only reason i mention dexter as being better was because the shows came out around the same time as there was debate in the TV forum over which was better and if someone missed heroes its just as likely they missed dexter so i was making sure they checked them both out.

Wow, I love this show. Boards got me hooked on Lost and Prison Break so when I saw this new forum I knew it was a safe bet that the show would be good. I'm only up to episode 3 so far, so I'm afraid to read any other threads for now.

Also, check out a show called Brotherhood.

hmm, maybe you are right about that, just with it's concept of amazing powers and all, i'd have lumped it in with sci-fi, but it's more about drama and inter character development and a good dose of what the fcuk is going on.
still, it's great. end of story.

A friend was raving about this the other day... was going to ignore it (not enough free time to start on a new series) but somebody else has mentioned that it's bloody good, so I'll definitely check it out.

Just be sure and watch past the first episode at least.

I don't know what exactly is missing from the first episode but for some reason it's just not on par with the rest of them. From the second or third episode on you should start seeing what all the fuss is about.

Thought the first episode was pretty good actually... the second episode is bloody good as well, can definitely see what all the fuss is about and can't wait to watch some more tomorrow:)

Just watched all 13 episodes over the weekend, have to say I enjoy it (although I'm a bit fried now). It'll be added to my watch list.

BBC2 have the rights to it as well, not sure when they will be showing it though. In December I read it would be "in the new year" so I guess anytime between now and May.

1st March Channel 6

I thought the first episode wasn't bad at all, not being a huge fan of all things sci-fi myself it wasn't overly 'geeky' (and I mean that in the politest sense of the word) has plenty of conspiracy stuff so it's got that espionage/government conspiracy thing going on. Great stuff looking forward to seeing Episode 2

So what's all this about then?
