We really need pictures to decide if this was actually a master stroke. Think of the divorce proceedings: "I'm very sorry your honour, I'm broke, why else would I bet my wife away??"

How much was his wife staked for ?

I have some friends who have been grinding it out at .5-1 they might now be bankrolled for say 1-2 :-)

The russian gambler calls the massive pre flop raise for his whole bankroll, coming over the top by sticking his wife into the middle. His opponent didn't hesitate in calling one second, he got the woman valued, shoved a matching amount into the pot and flipped AA over laughing.
The gambler didnt seam bothered by his opponents holding,
he turned over 72 offsuit, which failed to improve. He siad nothing after the hand, and left the dark moscow cardroom, although a number of people in the room claimed he was smiling as he left

I think he might of been in a win win situation
