listening to joe duffy, just catching it now, apparently two brothers were having arguement they left a pub and were having a friendly arguement over football some gardai passed by and waded in with the battons they then handcuff one guy put him on the ground and then one gardai held him down with his knees while the other hit him repeatedly over the head with a baton. people were trying to protect his bloodied head him putting they hands on his head and the gardai just battoned theose hands

the friend describing it said it was totaly over top and they sent the guy to hospital, 35 stitches and then because it was so close to pearse street loads of other cops come and the other people around were trying to calm the cops down so then the other cops starting battering everybody in sight old and young, passerbys and witnesses videophone smashed by the cops

blood on the road from the one of the brothers, a old man tryuing to leave the pub was hit by the batton on the hip and knocked over by the cops and the and people that went to help that man were threatened by gardai with battons

the gardi batton first ask questions later, the cops should be able to think as they act and not make a situation worst, when cops see one of them in struggle
then they come over in droves, not just one cop going to assist them but 6 cops with battons going like combine harvesters, no restraint no thought, no accountability.

if the gard's mother was standing infront of them when they were like that they still batter them. no control, thugs!

and of course loads of people ring up saying i believe the gards I believe the gards, idealogical incapable of seeing police violence it was, video and shown on national tv still no convictions.

oh I believe the gards I believe the gards, sure they were probably only scum and they deserved it
f'ing sheeple would know different if they ever get treated like **** by a gard.

Your not gonna convince anyone. It is FACT that the gardai have been too heavy handed many times (May Day Riots, AbbeyLara) for example, but as usual none of the sheep are going to believe you unless something happens them or their family/friends.

I think you yourself are getting out of control I especially like your quote about the Gardais mothers (you know this for a fact ). The Gardai are not the scum in this city. It is all too easy to pick out one act, and claim anything you want, especially when you are relying on the Joe Duffy show for your facts. The gardai have a sh1tty job in Dublin and are not helped by a severe lack of man power and resources.

I alos dont think it was the 6 extra SOBER gardai who arrived to help their colleague that escalated matters but it was more than likely caused by the extra DRUNK people spilling out of the pub.

I haven't really got time to go into this right now, but I think this thread is walking a very dangerous line.

Until I can give it some more thought, and because I can't afford to keep an eye on it until then, I'm locking it temporarily.

No PMs, no new threads, no feedback complaint please - it may re-open but I'm not willing to let this wander around such perilous ground until I can give it a serious look at...

    Will post again later.
