Full control connection of Creative Zen Vision with a Sony car stereo?

    Hi

I’m trying to decide between buying an Ipod video or a Creative Zen Vision. From reviews I’ve read it seems that the Creative is a better performer from sound quality and picture perspectives (although I’m not really interested in the video).
I like (from what I have read) the drag and drop feature on the Creative and also the idea of being able to use some of the music subscription services.

However one of the major factors I’m considering is that I would like to use the unit in the car but I want to have control of the MP3 through the car stereo.

There seems to be a few options on doing this for the iPod such as this http://www.connects2.com/c2search.aspx?catID=35

I’m looking for info on options for connecting a Creative Zen Vision M to a Sony car stereo. Can’t seem to find anything.

I do not want to connect with an FM modulator or a cassette adapter and while I know that line in is an option it won’t give control of the Zen from the stereo.

I was also wondering if the Zen was connected to the car stereo by USB (with this for example http://www.connects2.com/c2search.aspx?catID=54 ), would this allow the stereo to control the Zen?

Or just because the accessories are out there for it will I have to choose the iPod to do what I want to do?????

    Inputs appreciated….

USB connectors on stereos are more for mass storage devices. The Zen would have its own proprietary file system as fas as I know, and this will most likely not be recognised by the stereo.

You could try putting the Zen into mass storage mode (it's a setting in the Zen menu) and transfer you songs to it while it is in that mode, then connect it to the car stereo, and that is the best chance of getting it to be recognised.

The only possible problem I see with that is your stereo may only support devices up to a certain size ( 1GB etc).

I have a 40GB external hard drive which I tried connecting to my car stereo via USB. It didn't work, whereas the 512MB player I have works fine.

If it doesn't work, then there is no in-car System that I know of for the Zen ( tho I could be wrong) so the aux input on your stereo would be the best way to go.
