    but... you dont need to USE it. I set one up when I opened my flickr a/c and have never used any yahoo crap.... just as a flickr login.

    Same, I have had a .co.uk email address for ages and maybe used it for messenger a few times but thats it apart from flickr.

    Flickr is part of Yahoo and a Flickr login will work fine on yahoo.com. I don't see what the big fricking problem is - set up your own hosting and use Wordpress or Gallery
