    The first slr I ever used was a praktica, far as I know they were a cheap east german brand in the 70's & 80's. The one I used was more like a tank than a trabant though. If I were you I would get a roll of film and put it through just make sure its all in working order before using it on anything you might want to keep - its a shame that someone threw that one away as they weren't built to be disposable.

    I used to have one too - an earlier version. Also built like a tank. Wez on here has it now and as far as i Know uses it a lot

    Yeh, As Cambo said, I use it alot! The one I was using was made around 75, so I'd say yours is a newer, most likely an 80's model. Very nice cameras to use, built well and there's a good fan base around them. I've been stopped in the street by people complementing it, filling me in with information about where they're built etc. Everyone seems to use them as their first camera, and I can see why!

    Might have a look around the electronics recycling box next time I'm down the dump! Gotta find an excuse to get down there now.. Nice find!

    aye caramba! that takes me back.... had one of them babies for donkeys years.. tis an absolute workhorse of a camera... think it's still sitting somewhere in my parents attic at home :)
