Recording programmes on NTL Digital

    Hi there,

I have recently got the NTL Digital package, which thankfully has been brilliant so far, dont want to jinx it.

However I do have a couple of technical problems on my end.

Firstly, the NTL programmes are on AV1 which is grand and have the video channel on AV2. For some reason I cannot understand why I cant record.
Now I have scart leads from the TV to the digital box, TV to the video, and video to the digital box, but no joy it seems to tape static.

So any help would be appreciated.

One other thing, when trying to tune in the digital channels on the old terrestial channels all i can tune in is Channel 4 and E4.

Any ideas would be great here too.

    Cheers.

Go to the Video Channel on the TV and try to view the ntl through it, once you can see it you should be able to tape it.

    Hi

I'm able to record from the NTL digital.

Other than the above also have a look at the back of the NTL box, there should be 2 connector 1 might say Video the other TV, make sure that you have the connector label as TV going the the Video, as it could be due to some copyright issues that do not let you tape and why you see static.

    Regards

You need to connect the Scart cable from the NTL box to the Scart in on the VCR and then connect the VCR to the TV. You then watch the NTL box through the VCR and you can record whatever channel you are watching.

Alternatively you can connect the analogue out from the NTL box to the VCR and record any of the 17 analogue channels, while watching a separate channel on the digital.
