(request) - looking for a lost toy once sold in Roches Stores

A couple of years ago I purchased a stuffed musical elephant in Roches Stores Waterford. My daughter (Dayna) has grown very attached, but the toy is falling apart.

It appears (see image attached) it was made by Jolly baby. I contacted the distributer in Ireland, who had no interest what so ever in helping me (???).

I contacted the manufacturer who seemed keen to help and then I found it hard to get a response. Finally they came back with no help.

Searched the web (e-bay, online toys etc etc). No luck anywhere.....

So finally I am trying to reach out to anyone on the web who may (by massive chance), have one of these stuffed toys.

Any help in any shape or form would be much appreciated.

If I have posted on the wrong area of this site, my apologies.

Very close. Her own has very similar face but colour (use to be) light (tanned) brown and you know kids....

I tried about half a different types and colours and she stills hugs the one with half a face....

But thanks. Will look into it.

What about a teddybear hospital? Wash it first then send him off for repair. Course she'd be without him for a while so that may not work...

Yep. Was thinking of hospital, but she wouldn't last a day.

It has been hand patched with a bean bag for stuffing.

Also looked into toy repair kits. But material is fraying so much on the outside I guess you would really need to be handy with a sewing machine and alike.

Reminds me tho' of how we got around a similar problem a few years ago. Arrived at Dublin Airport enroute Lanzarote for two weeks holiday. Oh, oh white teddy (aka joggy bear) missing, or should I say still at home in bed. :D:D Panic as this was his comfort. mrs hansov goes into the one of the Irish souvenir shops and who was there but joggy bear's brother ;) kitted out in green for St. Patricks Day. A quick snip off of the greenery, joggy's brother came on holiday and everything was fine. Still have both teddies to this day. You could spin a similar yarn about Jollybaby DouDou Elephant?

    The joys of parenthood.

might work if they were similar sizes. will have to measure the "original" "nelly" as she calls it and see.

Was even thinking of a head transplant. Now how ugly would that be?

    Thanks.

You could try to email a photo to newsun@newsuntoys.com they are an agent for most toy manufacturers in China. Put FAO Meggie if she has seen it, she can put you in touch with an agent who stocks it.

Thanks. Just sent her an email with an image attached.

have posted on a few boards and continued the ebay/internet search, combined with a few emails/letters.

    Fingers crossed.

Lesson in this: if you have a young child buy two toys!

didn't manage to track one of these down.

I purchased a couple of toy kits on the net, that "may" help repair it. But will still look a bit patchy....

Thanks to all for help and suggestions.

Finally came up empty on this toy (brand maker was of little help)

Thanks to all that gave me suggestions.
