A nice sized prize of 250K, plus the the top 2 qualify for the 1st 20-20 world cup. Beating Scotland in the first game would be massive.

that's a pretty good score, put on almost a hundred runs for the last ten overs, should make us hard to beat!

In the other game today. Canada are 200 all out (44ovs) against the Netherlands.

Kenya hammered Bermuda yesterday by 10 wickets.

nice one. Good news update there. If we can beat Scotland and the Dutch, then we definitely should be able to book our place in the 20/20 world cup.

getting a bit nervous now seeing as how we scored so heavily in the last 10 overs, they need 51 from 6, it's doable

i feel as sick as a small hospital, they needed 15 off the last over and got it. what a disaster! a dot ball with the last ball of the game would've given us a draw. can't believe it

not looking very good against bermuda today, the team that got skittled by kenya have amassed 154/1 off 31 overs. the lads must be still mentally exhausted from yesterday's game but we basically need to win all our games from here on in to qualify, including beating an impressive looking kenya who are skittling the dutch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

Big ask for these lads to play two one-days in a row, considering how deflating yesterdays result was.

Bermuda 255/6 off 48 overs at present.

I'd still fancy Ireland to get that...

phew! won with 8 balls to spare, porterfield carried his bat w 112. trent johnston came in at the end and whalloped 2 6's and a single, a real captain's effort. hopefully the lads will kick on from here and win the rest of the games and get a rain affected draw with the kenyans!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

Canada might beat Scotland today, if every one of the tops teams loses one game, the NRR from Ireland's loss might help. I think. /me grabs calculator!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 842 ✭✭✭dereko1969

scotland just about beat canada, it's a very tight league, only kenya look capable of beating everyone else. hopefully we'll put the cat among the pigeons by beating them on friday.

ireland going great guns against kenya today. tons for porterfield (2 in a row for him) and k o'brien. apparently kenya have been brutal in the field. here's hoping the bowlers can match the batsmen and come up trumps and give us an unexpected win. while i'm writing o'brien was run out chasing a second off the last ball - my total is 284/4 - the text commentary is a bit ahead of the scoreboard.

Kenya wicket gone already. 8/1 (2ovs)

With Joyce's ton in Australia, could the Irish team set up a fantastic day for Irish cricket???:D

    Come on Ireland!

Scotland made 207/8 in a game reduced to 37 ovs against Holland today. Would be good if they were beaten, could end up in a big tie up at the top by the end of the league if we beat Kenya and later Holland.
