she should apply directly to the director of nursing (DON) in the particular hospital, outlining her reasons for wanting to do work in a hospital setting. she would most likely be recruited as a healthcare assistant/ward attendant grade.

the contacts for the dublin hospitals are:

Mater Misericordiae University Hospital - Una Marren (Acting DOn) or Mairead Curran (ADON Human Resources - Nursing)

Childrens Unviersity Hospital, Temple Street - Rita O'Shea (DON)

St. James University Hospital - Eilish Hardiman (DON)

    Beaumont - Marie Keane (DON)

St. Vincents - Pauline Doyle (DON)

Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital - Paul Collins (DON)

    Rotunda - Pauline Treanor (DON&Midwifery)
If she cannot get employment, perhaps being willing to volunteer in a childrens ward might be useful. Or she could apply to nursing/repsite home for a position as a healthcare/ward attendant.

Best of luck with it, nursing is a very rewarding career.

i worked in one of the hospials named above for the past two summers and i can honestly say that they we're the best summers of my life, the money that is there to be made is unbeliveable.

I have never seen anyone in the hospital doing what your gf would like to do. I just rang every hospital in dublin asking for a job and the last hospital i rang we're having interviews the next day. :D:D
