70-200 F4L IS with and extender?

    Hi,

I've had a quick look at the EF 70-200 f4L IS and was wondering what impact a tele extender would have on its range and quality.

Would I be correct in saying that the EF 1.4x Tele Extender Mk II would result in a 98-280 range but I would lose one stop so the f4 would go f5.6? How would the 350Ds 1.6 crop effect this range? Would it go to 156-448?

In general, it is worthwhile trying to squeeze and extra bit of range out of this lens or just buy a lens to go to 300mm?

    Ta,
    JP

In and ideal world we would get a 300mm but I have used the 1.4x TC with a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 and the results were excellent, I think people say it slows down the autofocus and you lose some image quality but for value for money its very good.

Heres a sample at f4 and at max zoom with a 1.4x TC
