    Live PLHE 1/2

    Hero 350
    Villian 345

I pick up KK in MP and raise to 10 after a few limpers. Called by button and the the villian makes it 50. Folded back to me i meake it 150 he then pushes i call he has AKo spikes an ace on the turn. Ah well.

However this post is not just your regular bad beat story, my question is should i just flat call his 50 so that maybe i could get away from it if an Ace pops or are you looking to get it in everytime?

i suppose a lot depends on how this guy is or was playing, myself i would have called his 150 and more than likely with no A on the flop, the rest is a push..... i suspose the same result...

anyway you were very unlucky mate... [Fitz / Jackpot - was it]

you dont want to bet less "to get away from it", you might bet less to get value from your hand or to induce a call from an Ace high. if you seen his hand you would want him to call your while stack every time on that flop, he has 3 outs. the Ace is just unlucky, but you have to make him pay to see it.

Tank it all - in pre. Calling his 50 and then betting the flop with no A doesn't make sense - with no A he won't donk it in. The only way to gaurantee getting AK over the line (and you want AK over the line) is to put as much into the pot pre as possible.

Also, his range to that betting includes QQ and JJ (in that game!!) and sometimes those hands can fold some flops.

Maximise value with KK - it is never a mistake to get the tank in pre if possible (unless you are facing a re-raise from me)
