Ive heard rumours from numourous people that Creative, the creaters of the Creative Zen, lots of great PC sound card equipment and speakers are about to go out of business, anyone know if this is true, apparently they are almost bankrupt?? If so what does this mean to many of us who have creative mp3/4 players?

It's the first I've heard of such rumours and I'd be very surprised if it were true.

Possibly it's a rumour that was started by a competitor - happens all the time in retail (a competitor to the company I work for is constantly starting rumours that we're closing down - which couldn't be further from reality), - so why not in manufacturing?

I'd be very surprised. It's less than sixth months since Apple gave them an out of court settlement of 100 million dollars.

This is the nearest thing I can find. Hope it isn't true. We have four in our house and know many more owners. Software is much easier than iPod.

I heard they were losing a lot of money alright (Apple's payment barely covering one's year's loss I think) but not to the extent of nearing bankruptcy - yet anyhow.

Have they not just relocated their manufacturing operation from Dublin to somewhere in Europe? Definately trying to cut costs I would assume. They've had that place for years and years.
