Sky Digital Info

    Hi

Newbie here so take it easy on me.

Have read stickies and many threads here and garnered a lot of good info but I need some more.

Have finally decided to give NTL the push after ten years - their lack of Customer Service has finally driven me over the edge.

Will be getting Sky Digital but want to get multiroom (one extra box for starters). What I want to know is whether the fact that I have just one phone point will affect this. I already have two phones and a broadband router connected to the point and am a bit worried that something will go wrong.

Also, is it possible to switch off (and switch back on) Sports, Movies etc. at any time like I could with NTL?

Any other things to atch out for would also be of interest?

    Thanks in advance.

Also - I have called Sky regarding this and they sy I have to supply the filters for the technicians to set things up - I presume these ar DSL filters but I don't really have a clue what they are on about - they don't make things very clear on their website.

Yes, Sky modem will work via analog telephone microfilter on DSL (unless you have VOIP only LLU DSL), or on Digiweb Metro. It ought to work also on NTL cable Phone service, but I have not verified that UPC have set up there Cable Modem phone ports to support it.

You can send an email comment to Sky via Digibox menu to test your connection.

I spoke to magnet recently about this and they claim to have a solution using an external ATA box, try contacting them I guess
