    Just an observation...
I was walking through Kinsale Co. Cork yesterday and passed a man with an odd looking digital camera. Upon returning home I did a bit of research and found that this was the type of camera he was using...http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=1082&A=details&Q=&sku=463798&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

Check out the price tag on this momma - $26994.95
How could you charge this much money for a camera- you could but a nice car for that money? And secondly why would someone pay out that much for a camera? (unless of course he's a millionaire who just stepped off his luxury yacht to take a few snapshots of Oirland)

why people pay that much for a camera:
a mate of mine has a contract to do calendars for a company in new york (he's a professional travel photographer).
his traditional travel kit has been olympus OM, mainly based around OM4Ti bodies and (expensive) prime lenses - there used not be a need to get photos to his customers within 24 hours, which allowed him to work in 35mm. anyway, the calendar crowd insisted on digital - less work for them - and told him they'd be happy with the resolution a D200 offered, so he bought two.
he took all the shots for them, and sent them off. they got back to him - the D200 didn't offer the quality they were looking for for the cover, so paid him to head back to the countries he was contracted to cover, and he took the cover shots on his olympus kit, and they were happy with those.

if you're a pro who's looking to blow stuff up way past A4, a high end digital camera can make the difference between making a sale and not making a sale - the commission may dictate 20MP+ on the images.

Was reading a prof photo mag the other day (I like to dream...) and there was an article on new digital backs for Hassels rated at 39Mp...

    Just Googled for info:

And there was me saving like mad for a D200...:o
