Two-Month Job?

Hi. I'll (hopefully) be starting a good job later in the spring. It's going to be a lean time until the paychecks start rolling in.

I'd like to work in the meantime.

    1. I can start TODAY.
    2. I'm well spoken and intelligent.
    3. I have a degree and three quarters of a Masters.
    4. I only want a job for a couple of months (maybe to help out with a new enterprise when it's getting up and running?).
    5. Odd hours are fine.
    6. Only reasonable money would make it worthwhile.
    7. I'm business oriented.

If anyone wants a guy (I'm 27), or knows someone who wants a guy, or knows of a good website, please reply to this thread.

I usually have a car, I live in Dublin.

Maybe try a temp agency. Work may not be solid but you'll get a good few days work out of it.

Cheers. I considered temping but I dislike (a) Admin, (b) Waiting by the phone for calls from the agency and (c) Having an agency skim from my wages.

I was thinking more like helping someone out for a few weeks. I understand it's a long shot. I'm not REALLY expecting someone to email me on boards asking me to work for them. I'm just putting myself out there.

I currently do a few hours teaching but it's not ideal, for a few reasons. I'm considering quitting and signing on, which doesn't fill me with joy. It might make practical sense though, until I start work properly.

Here's the fun bit: by the time you get your first dole cheque, you'll be working in that new "spring" job. The sh|t sometimes takes its time going through the system.

Do you like doing data input? If so, say so in a letter, saying you're looking for a short term contract, when writing to agencies. Aside from that, I don't think you'll get a short term contract.

Is there any scope for doing nixers based on your qualifications?

    Thanks, guys.

Data input is too mind numbing. I did it for a summer for Bank of America in San Francisco when I was twenty. Never again!

As for my qualifications, my degree is Psychology and my current Masters is in Food Business. My teaching is already trading off the Psych degree, not sure how else I can milk it. The foodie stuff is what I'm trying to get into. ..
