Ok, heres the thing, I ordered some stuff from 7dayshop and the small packages were delivered through the letter box with my normal mail, but today one of the large packages was just left in my OPEN porch without the postman ringing the bell or knocking. Only for I heard the porch the package could have been left sitting there and someone may have taken it.
The postman is suppose to ring the bell to see if anyones home are they not and if nobodys home the put a slip in the door to say failed delivery attempt.I am going to ring and complain tomorrow morning as I am also waiting on a dvd boxset which would be to large to fit in my letterbox, by my guess it should have arrived tuesday. Maybe a good reason for the delay but if it was left in the porch and taken I want to know. Surely the post office will have a record of the packages which left the local sorting office for delivery and if it was left in the porch and taken what can I do about it?

What kind of delivery was on the DVD? Our postie was notorious for leaving items that were meant to be signed for (scribbled his own name) on the porch. :(

Was 1st class royal mail and I also waiting on a dvd boxset from play which would be first class too. But surely they should knock and if nobodys home leave a slip to collect at the local sort office.

No, unless it's recorded there will be no record of what was sent out. Stuff from play.com isn't so that's untraceable. If your DVDs haven't arrived in 14 days play will re-send anyway.

He should have rang the bell alright to let you know it was there, and not just left it there if there was no answer.
