What is generally the best line? This is a hand that I have probably played a good few times so im looking for the best line

    .25/.50 NLHE

Im in the BB with AKs and after 3 limpers I make it $3.50 to go. The first limper calls, others fold. Limper has $60 and I cover. Pot c.$8.

Flop A 8 4r. I lead for $7 and the limper makes it $21 without much delay...

Whats my move? Im not long at the table but dont really pay attn anyway as I generally assume everyone down here is weak.

EDIT - should note that I have been playing pretty agressive.

So does everybody fold then? 44 ppl have looked at the thread but nobody has an opinion! strange imo.

ok, I play the .25/.50 and .5/1 level and it is surprising how many times this situation comes up.
I often come up against trips and get stacked.
I now think I have become to tight and fold to this raise more often than not.
I only call/push if I have been playing and see this as an 88+.
They can have the set or just the pair.

I'd also love to hear the correct way to play this but I guess its going to be table dependent and player read dependent.

    Raise usually.

If he is very tight or very passive usually then I would fold.

If he is tricky aggro then call, cr all in on turn.

Very player dependant really, if limp calling any suited ace is in his range then I allways raise, if he only limp calls pps then I prefer to flat call and reevaluate on the turn. This is why its important to take a note on players as to wheither or not they slowplay sets.

Edit: What I say above is more relevant to this situation in general, with stacks so shallow just stick him in like hawk says, unless he is very tight.

Just stick it in he is never folding an AT+ with 35 behind. If he has 444 or A8
    then your going broke everytime.
I don't see much point in calling, your oop so no point in getting cute and no turn is a scare card so just push.

Surely his most likely hand is a suited ace that's hit 2p or a pair that's hit a set? I don't think you're gonna see a rr to 21 too often at .25/.50 with AT+ in this spot.

Do you expect a see a set played so fast here? I dont, am I wrong to think this?

I dont think we are against a set a whole lot but definately some of the time.

Impossible to tell you what to do here without some stats/reads on opponents. Vs an unknown it depends on how the game has been playing. With none of that info folding flop is ok, as is calling and getting it in on turn.

I agree with you here Reggie - but as above I was looking for a general line. I suppose I asked a poker playing mate and he said drop it quickly cos ur up against a set too often - I dont think think this is the case, the board is too dry for a set to be played this fast.

I'm not on online expert and what I would do is based more on my experience live.
With no real read or past clashes I would just reraise. I think you're ahead a lot more than you're behind. An average player won't raise with a set here IMO.

Right I figued he hadnt got a set, and actually had A with a good kicker and wanted to know where he was. As it transpired he had AJ. He finally found where he was in the hand alrite (",)
