Hi, bought a house 6 months ago and it has a grey marble fireplace which we don't particularly like. Rather than replace it I was wondering if I could paint it white and black with tile paint or if there is anything else I could do.. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or done this before? any advice much appreciated..

    Is it an open/coal fire?
If so then the paint will most likely peel and quite possible go on fire...

Hi Greebo, yes it's an open fire - I probably should have said that...!!
