When I click to take a shot, the cam will focus in AF mode but will not take the shot. But it will take the shot fine in manual mode. I had the same prob before for a while, but it seemed to resolve itself, but the prob is back again...

in AF mode you need to hold the shutter release doewn half way until it finds a focus point. Do you have it set to beep when its in focus? Unless you change the focus button to the AE button you will need to work it like most compacts i.e. press halfway until focused then fully press.
