    Hi All,

I hope to get out this weekend, weather permitting, to have a good go of me new 30D and 28-135IS. I will probably be restricted to either early morning or late night excursions, so looking for suggestions on where to go...
Obviously it cannot be somewhere that has opening hours as I will be outside them. I was thinking Phoenix park for early morning, but it's such a big place, is there anywhere in the park that is recommended?

    Thanks

Cambo ,sunday mornings are very quiet at the phoenix park.
You can get a glimpse of joggers and stuff aswell.

I got very close to reindeer up there ,I made sure to wear dark clothing though as I scared them before with my bright red jacket

If you go to the 'early house' first, there's a much better chance of seeing those reindeer !:D

if you're in the phoenix park in the early morning, the sun rises off to the left of the main avenue as you look down it towards town.
my favourite early morning moment in the park was when i was over near the aras at about 6:30am, and the zoo's dawn chorus opened up. mainly monkeys, by the sound of it.

They should have thought you were Santa and come over to you.

I'd reccommend Dundrum bridge! I've been there the past two days taking a few shots. Once you start getting creative, it's a great place to be! There's some pics from there on my Flickr.

Yeh, would be a nice trip, down by the canals.. Just curious, have you taken many around the Irishtown area? I've been meaning to head down there the past while to grab a few snaps, mainly around the dock area of patterns and whatnot, but would be interesting to see it from a locals aspect (noticed your location)..

bloody millions...;) you have the canal dock, liffey, south wall, the road down to the docks, nature reserve, beach, Dodder, Lansdowne etc. etc..

fed up with it now to be honest :)

    But how!? :P

I'm dying to get down there, drove through there again yesterday and was tempted to grab the camera and head back down right away.. I'll prolly head down tomorrow evening, catch some bright shots full of colour etc, then go for some dirty industrial style night shots once it gets dark enough..
