Corrupt folder

The recovery Partition E:\RECOVER on my Medion PC ( WinXP Home) has a folder which has been renamed to something with non-asci characters (something like ´¯ ).
I can no longer access this folder, rename it or delete it.
Error message: Cannot find the specified file or folder.

Don't know if it is a folder required for recovering the system to factory defaults
Anyone got any ideas on how to access or delete a folder containing non-standard characters.
    Any help appreciated.

your system restore (the windows xp life saving application) creates all the crap and prevent you lookin at it

there is nothing in that folder of interest to you, but next time your pc gets messed up, run system restore fom the start menu* and you can roll it back to a previous dates settings, and xp will put the needed info from that folder

    *
    okay its kinda hidden
    start
    programs
    accesories
    system tools
    system restore

This is not the Windows system restore folder.
This is a seperate partition (E:\RECOVER) used by Medion to restore the PC to factory to defaults. The corrupt folder is a folder in this partition.
It is not a windows system folder.
At the moment I cannot browse, rename or delete this folder, from Windows, from Safe Mode or from a command prompt.
    Anyone else have any ideas?

Yeah it uses some strange restore program and the images seem to be compressed - so not sure how much use it would be unless 100% ok :(

The Restore files seem to be OK, but the corrupt folder is preventing the use of the E:\RESTORE partition. (Windows Explorer freezes, for example).
Really looking for a way to delete the corrupt folder, but haven't been able to.
    Any suggestions??
