Sky for holiday home

Looking for Sky solution for a new holiday home. Have Sky+ at home. Builder suggested buying second hand box and dish and transferring card each time we use the holiday place (which is in Donegal).

However I have a cunning plan! If I upgrade to Sky HD can I just relocate the Sky+ box to the holiday gaff and pick up a dish somewhere? Any pitfalls with this? Was thinking might be contract issues but we have Sky+ now >1 year.

You could use the SKy+ box in your Donegal home if you have upgraded to SkyHD at your main home. You'd still need to transfer the viewing card each time you head up to Donegal.

Note, that the viewing card will be paired with the SkyHD box, and, although most channels will still work on the Sky+ box up in Donegal, premium channels like Sky Sports or Movies will not be viewable.

What you could do, is after upgrading to SkyHD, sell the Sky+ box to fund a second hand dish and digibox?

Or just mount Dish + LNB and take box +card.... That way you have pre & during holiday recordings.

But a Sky+ can be bought without a contract.
