Went to the Zoo, mainly to get some pictures of the Tigers as the last time I was there they were just lazing around (who can blame them) anyway got some nice shots, used my 20D with a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 with a 1.4x Teleconverter ISO 400. C&C welcome

Personally I like the last one best. I was pretty blown away with the quality of the teleconverter. Very happy with it.

The 2nd is cracking, almost like he/she is looking at what prey they are about to eat!!

The second one is my fav. I like that he's looking straight at the camera- menacing indeed.
    BTW, what is a teleconverter?

Thanks for the comments. A teleconverter multiplys the size of the lens, makes things closer. The lens I used is normally a 70-200 but when you put a teleconverter on it becomes 90-280 approx. Yeah he was looking in my direction! :) I tried very hard to get natural looking backgrounds considering the enclosure they are in. They are Amur Tigers.

    Great shots!
Zoos can be very rewarding expecially when you can avoid those nasty bars.

Yeah I had to take these through thick perspex. I stuck the lens hood and put it as close as I could get it. I took some pictures of the Wolves through link fencing and you cant see it at all. All the animals seemed to be more active on Saturday maybe with it being cold.
