If I am paying rent in my family home do I or my parents qualify for tax relief on it?

    Thanks

Short answer is no, not for the present tax year of 2007.

You can get tax relief (if you are paying income tax) for previous years. However, the Revenue are on the warpath and are looking for leases, bills, etc. and you parents will have to have declared the income (up to 7,000 euor tax free under the Rent-a-Room scheme).
