Getting ANY laptop for under 200 quid to run a modern OS would be an achievement - getting an Apple laptop under 200 quid would be a miracle - getting an intel Apple laptop under 200 quid???? . . . well that would be called a Birthday present I think !!:D

Seriously though you might pick up an old Clamshell or Pismo for 200 to 300 quid and expand them but I think you would be better off uping the amount to about 500 and getting a G3 iBook White with a CDRW/DVD combo and Airport.

Memory and hard drives for these are easy to come by and battery life might be a bit better that the older models - if you come accross a 12" iBook with a worn out battery let me know, I have a boxed, new battery for this model.

Ok there are some low spec clamshells w/o airport for about 200US all the others are still being bid on and will be a lot more than 200 quid when they do sell. Plus Airport cards are getting hard to come by now thanks to Kismac.

    Hello Weeder,

I have a 12" iBook PPC 500Mhz that i was going to put up on eBay. You are welcome to it for €250, I know that is a little above budget. It already has the Airport card that cost over €80 6 months ago. It is also running 576Mb of Ram and a 40 GB HDD. I can install any version of OSX or 9.2.2 on it. I have 10.4.7 on it at the moment and it is a little sluggish, but it was fine on 9.2.2.

    regards
