Ok Had a creative zen touch since it came out and i must say its been reliable for most of it, around 6 months ago i had to install plays for sure firmware and ever since its been Terrible, now all the buttons are getting messed up (pressing ok goes back ect.) and its full so im in need of an alternitive music player.

Say ive got around 300-350 euro to play around with i need somthing that has big stoarge and not MASSIVE, i was looking into getting an ipod video 80 gb but i heard that ipods wont take any file format other than aac, is this true?

Also heard that it has a poor battery and that you need usb 2.0 on your comp (which i dont have). Also heard that it doesnt come with a standalone charger which is a pain in the arse. Is all of this true.

Any other suggestions on what i can set me peepers on?

Well you could always stick with Creative. The 60gig Zen V:M would be a good alternative to the ipod. Or if battery life and audio format support are your priorities then the iAudio X5L would be a good choice.

ipod takes these formats, aac/m4a/mp3/wav don't think it takes anymore.

it's a shame that rockbox isn't available for the 80gig ipod. rockbox is an alternative firmware that runs along side the exsisting firmware but it would turn your ipod into a great player. drag and drop capability - no more ****ty itunes - and great file format support. alas it isn't available yet for the 80gig hopefully soon though.

you can't fault the iaudio x5 though, great file support no need for poopy software - just drag and drop - and it looks slick and is fairly small.

I audio is super expensive and i found a 30 gb zen vision to be around the same size as my touch so i dread to see what a 60 gb is like.

Ill just keep looking me thinks.
