right, the gf got me a digital camera for xmas, love the thing! but went to take it out there yesterday to take a few snaps, as ya do, and the flash wouldnt work. tried charging the batters. still, nada. it hasn't been used in about 2 weeks due to being in school, but worked fine before then and has just sat on my window sill since then. you can see a tiny little flash of light when the flash is meant to go off, but i mean u have to put it under ur top to see it, any ideas?

My first guess would be that the flash is working fine, and that the camera is set to automatic, and you're just not in a dark enough place to me it activate.

nope, have the flash on all the settings passable. flash on, flash red eye on, auto flash on, i even tried flash off, obviously that one didn't work, and i have it in a mode that the flash should be able to work!

Go into a pitch black room and take a photo. Is it a compact digital camera or digital slr? Some cameras don't have a pop up flash, but I don;t think this applies in your case.

honesty, i don't know. i don't know the difference, but it deffinatly has a flash, it doesn't pop out, its just above the lens and a bit to the left. it did work, it just stopped working when i didn't use it for 2 weeks, i didn't drop it  (probably the only thing i haven't dropped) so i duno what could have happened.

Think it may be time to have it looked at by a pro.
