iMac and ipod

    Not sure whether this should be in the portable media player forum or mac forum but anyway.

    My ipod is configured for windows. Now thats i have a mac and have backed up my songs to dvd, i want to make my ipod mac compatible.

    is it simply the case of downloading the ipod updater for mac and restoring settings? Sorry im a bit confused!

    You shouldn't need to do anything, though if you want to make sure it's Mac-formatted, I'd recommend doing a factory restore from iTunes on your Mac.

    Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes by checking Software Update. You can do the factory restore from within the iPod section in iTunes.

    i was a pc user with an ipod then i got a macbook. i thought i would have had to restore my ipod and re-format for mac. but i didnt, when i connect it to iTunes on the mac it comes up perfectly. and i found a great software package thats free called Senuti (iTunes backwards) and it does just that - takes songs FROM the iPod TO the computer so u can backup using that. even looks like itunes... http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/23390
