how does he call with A8 there limp calls pre then calls all in on flop muppets

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Shortstack

What was with the 4's UTG? I would have pushed the KQ vs the SB - prob same result but you dont get caught bluffing postflop.

Not a big enough raise with the KK, encourages serial callers which maybe OK in an ordinary tournament but not a satellite.

Get some chips back and get in there.!

The A8 guy is just unbelieveable I dont think Ive ever seen someone this deep in a tournament play a hand so badly what a waste of a seat he will be.

You have to take donkeys into account. You effectively gave him the odds to call behind with your small raise. In cash or a normal tournament this is not so bad but survival here is the key. You should have been committing them for their stacks with a pot size raise here, you are only 70% vs any Ace and once the SB is in the pot as well your chances of winning it are less.

Who knows he may have called a bigger raise but I doubt it.

Why did you raise UTG with 44 a few hands earlier?

Just tuned in at the end there Eoin. Tough luck man. Even when you took the hit with KK I still felt you were in with a good shot as you were picking your spots well. Having seen the standard of play in that I think I should start playing more sats.

    Are you on drugs Mike?

He limps mp with below average stack for 800
I raise to 3200 this raise is fine imo
    bb calls he calls

    flop A 2 2

he bets 2400 its the most obviously played "I have a small ace and dont know where I am bet" Ive ever seen so I let him know hes beaten and stick him in. And he times out and calls unreal bad imo. What could I possibly have he is beating? only KK and most wouldnt stick him in with that.

The 44 I didnt need to play allright but I was still well stacked after that.

Yeah I felt I was still playing allright but I prob shouldnt push the AQ the last hand I knew he had to have some sort of hand and was too big a stack to pass. Blah fifth sat Ive bubbled sick of it.

I never said he didnt play it badly. I said you need to account for this. A bigger preflop raise punishes bad play more.

Also you have seen him limp and call a raise with a less than average stack and bet out at an Ace high flop and correctly put him on a weak Ace. For you to have got your read right is not also correct to say that he is not good enough to lay it down?

Not having a go Eoin just giving my point of view and I have played and won my fair share of sats. They need a different viewing angle from a regular tourney.

You still haven't commented on the 44 :)

    See 3 posts above

Im playing so ridiculously good at the moment its just annoying I cant ever win a pot. Ithought he wanted to fold when he bet so weak which judging by the fact he used his whole time bank to call judges he did, I know you rock at sats Im just pissed I played well and didnt get a ticket cest la vie.

To be honest I think the worst play I made in the tourney was puching AQ knowing Id get called.UGH.
