    I'm bored...

Been sick the last few days, and didn't have much to do. Boredom gave me a chance to rework this into B&W. I quite like the vibrancy of the colour photo too, but I just wanted to play with B&W on it.

    B&W:

    And the colour version:

Some more on my flickr, with another B&W to be uploaded, internet in my cottage is hella slow!

    C&C away!

Bah, just noted some painfully bad PS editing there in the B&W one, hold off all your nit picking until monday - Just...take in the ambience for the moment.

Al did you blur the brickwork in photoshop or is that the focussing? ,the chrome is brilliant .
    Presume its a 5D shot ?

That black and white conversion is excellent Al,great shot.

That is indeed the focusing, but I burnt the foreground to make it appear slightly sharper, and applied some smart sharpen for a bit of a 'poster' effect...

Nice centrefold ad for Harley Davidson :p

Fixed up that bad PSing...It was doing my head in :p

Don't want to be a pain in the bum but the white line on the ground points to the pile of nets in the background - in the colour they look ok as a background but in the bw one they seem a bit messy, and take my attention away from the star performer in the picture :) I think for the bw a square crop would focus more on the bike. Not sure if that fits with your intentions though.

I do need to take some lessons from you on the conversion to get the nice heavy blacks and bright whites - mine all turn to mushy grey...

Loving the sharp shiny metal-lyness of the front wheel. Ugh, I sound like such a girl.

Good spot with the white line, I should have noticed it before. Think I should just dull it down? Or take it out?

i was playing about with different crops earlier, when I was too lazy to get all the bits of the sky and background joining in some alright manner, but none seemed to work...I think the subject needs space or something - In my mind anyways :p

I'll give a tutorial in B&W techniques at some meet-up...I could do it over the net...but I work better in person :)

If you were to dull it down so that it was less bright than the bright bits of the bike, that should do the trick. I just hope I haven't started to be one of those picky, analytical, overly-hung-up-on-stupid-technical-details people.

We do need to have a photoshopfest.

I need to go organise my apparel for tomorrow and go to bed! I'm shattered!

Nah, it's the stupid technical reasons that I've missed that I posted it! It's help after all ;)

    I appreciate it :)

Photoshopfest indeed. Tut tut Elven, get ready.

Some more multivitamins, and I'll be seeing people tomorrow...
