    Hi

I need some fairly urgent help please. i need to get a bounce flash for a new 350D digital Canon

I've found one on ebay and need to make sure it'll be compatible with the camera - Digital AF TTL Bounce Flash for Canon Digital

Anyone able to tell me whether it'll be any good for my camera?

I'd really appreciate any advice people can give me, before i throw my money away.

Please don't just read and not comment - I really need your help.....

Either the 480ex or 580ex are both from Canon. Very good flashes, and have what you need. Check out the Sigma, Soligor and Metz range too, not too familiar with their product names, but nearly all modern flash guns have what you need.

This tells you almost everything you need to know about Canon flash units and what they can do etc. So you can compare with whatever you've found on E-Bay

May be useful to look at Sigma flashes, as they are cheaper. But here is a bit of not-so-good experience:

I use Sigma EF 500 DG ST flash. It is quite basic, but powerful and has a proper head. When I used it with 300D, the camera was slightly overexposing with this flash, so I had to apply flash exposure compensation (a fraction of stop) using some hack.

Now I tried to use it with 400D and this camera is greately underexposures with this flash. At least that's my first impression. I compensate flash exposure in other direction (thanks god it's now possible without any hacks) at 1 stop and still have to bring the "exposure" up in prost-processing.

So, check the Sigma flashes, but try it on before buying.
