Cartoon from '80's or '90's

Does anyone remember a cartoon from the '80's or '90's that had a large Golden Phoenix in it that people in a jungle used to fly around in? I can't remember much of it but I remember I used to love watching it. I think the title was something like "Phoenix <blank>" or "<blank> Phoenix", my head is wrecked trying to remember the name of it.

You could be talking about "Battle of the Planets" or " Mysterious Cities of Gold"
    What were the characters names?

I would have guessed Mysterious Cities of gold as well.
    Class theme tune.

Wow - brings back memories! I loved that when I was a small person. I've never forgotten the theme music.

I lost my virginity to Zia around age 9 or 10.

Heres my cheesy remix of her mysterious cities of gold song.

That, Ulysses 31 and The Moomins went on for donkeys when I was a kid. Thought it never would end!
