Phayee IR filters - any good, or complete muck?

After reading a few of the recent posts and checking out some work online, I'd like to try out a bit of IR photography. I see Phayee filters (850nm and 950nm) available on ebay for about €20/25 incl. delivery. This seems to be a lot cheaper than your average Hoya R72 or Wratten 89B, and my old Finepix S5000, while respectable enough, is not the kind of high-end optics that you'd be worried about 'not doing justice to'...! :o

Has anyone here tried these? Are they absolute junk or a half-decent way to try out IR? I did a bit of searching for Phayee filters, but can only find info on their adapter rings. The Phayee website is only in Chinese, and even mousing over the links I don't see anything about IR filters...

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

P.S. While I'm at it, for general outdoor landscape use would you recommend 850nm or 950nm?

I guess it depends how they work, but I assume they block light below the stated wavelengths. If that was the case I would be inclined to go for the 850 rather than the 950, but I can't say for sure.

Will do. It's not in the bag yet, the auction has another 18h 40m to go...

Edit: Woot! Got it for £9.98/€15.54 :D
The seller is called virtualvillage-uk, anyone ever dealt with them?
