Would anyone out there be able to direct me towards info on the way races are made up i.e how does class 5 differ from class 6. Is it done on the value of the race?
Also what is the difference in a grade 1,class 1 and a group 1?

Hi razorhead.

Class 1 races include Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 races (These are the highest quality races). Class 1 also includes Listed races (Listed races are just below Group races in quality).

With Classes 2-7, horses are entered according to their offical rating:



Class 2: Ratings range 86-110
Class 3: Ratings range 76-95
Class 4: Ratings range 66-85
Class 5: Ratings range 56-75
Class 6: Ratings range 46-65
Class 7: Ratings range 0-45
