    Just a quick question here,

Should you take you protein shake after some cycling/football/rugby like you do on weight lifting days? That is, a shake with a 2:1 ratio, 50g carbs, 25g protein.

    Go raibh maith agat,

    AB.

    Thanks Dave.

For my shake there is only 1g of fat per serving, so it's pretty insignificant.

Then at that point I would make sure you have some sort of simple carbs pre-during and post workout to help keep as much muscle as possible, basically read transforms posts in the what to have before a football game thread

I do jsb, I take 50g of glucose with my 25g serving of protein. Do you recommend glucose pre training?

me personally I prefer fruit before a workout, then glucose during, post workout I use nutrion X RAM (so dextrose). I would just say that if you are having 3(1 pre, peri and then post) shakes generally I wouldn't have a full serving per shake as that would be slightly overkill for my needs
