    My laptop has an occasional urge to switch itself off?

    It's happened a few times in the past few days.

    And when I turn it back on, it'll turn back off once the OS is loaded and whatnot....

    But I'll turn in on once again, and it'll stay on...

    I feel like it's trying to tell me that it's on too much! LOL

    Can anyone help me?

    My laptop does the same thing when I leave it on for 10-12 hours at a time; it just overheats and shut itself down. Are you leaving your laptop on for long periods of time?

    Is it plugged into the mains all the time or do you run it off the battery?

    I don't run off the battery at all....

    And yeah, I'm guessing it's just because I have it on all the time!

    Where are you using the laptop? (e.g. on your lap, on a table, in bed)

    Are the vents dust free, or clogged up?

    It sounds like a heat problem.

    Does it just shutdown in the middle of using it, or does it shut down only after you walk away from it?

    Shuts down in the middle... Was watchin a dvd once, and it just turned off.....
