    Hey

Im looking to get some advice. I've been working out since the summer fairly consistently until oct when I ran the marathon. When I started out I was progressing nicely, increasing the amount of weight I could lift.

But recently its as if Ive hit a wall and cant progress any further. Ive really noticed this with barbell and bench press. Has anyone had similar probs?? Any advice would be welcomed.

    Cheers!

    Stephen

Are you just doing flat bench press? Try incline, decline, and dumbbell presses for a change.

Have you been training non stop, or have you taken a week's rest in the last while?

Have you been doing the same programme all that time? You should change it about every size weeks or so to develop new muscles.

What weight do you start on?
How many reps and sets, and what weight do you finish on?

    Are you feeding your recovery?

Also, dont start with the same exercise on each workout.

Hey thanks for the advice, I was kinda doing the same stuff all the time and doing 8 reps of 4 sets. I was talking to one of the big lads in the gym and he was saying that I should start with 6 reps, add bit more weight, drop to 4 reps and then more weight for 2 reps with about 2 min in between sets, I'll let you know how I get on.
