I can't seem to figure out how to get the effect of 3200 out of my camera ,with something mentioned about exposure compensation??
    Does anyone know how?

I believe the 350D goes to ISO1600, which means you can get an effective ISO3200 exposure if you shoot a RAW image with -1 stop exposure compensation... [gives you the shutter/aperture combo as though using ISO3200]

...then when converting the RAW image to JPEG on your computer, set an exposure compensation of +1 stop within the conversion software. [pushes the underexposed image up to normal brightness levels]

Was that what you had in mind?

If thats how its done ,thats how it's done .

    Thanks Mr.

Careful, Brian, I mixed up the setting on my first post, then edited it... sorry for the confusion :-)

[see the edited version above: -1 stop on camera, then +1 stop in software]

Just bear in mind, if you underexpose at 1600 and try to bring it up - even using raw - the noise is hideous. Not just noisy, but horrible banding effects. Yuck.

I'm always underexposing things in an effort to pick the least of two evils - that, or shakeyness!

thanks for the help with it ,the shots are just me trying to catch a glimmer of light.
So the 3200 might bring it up a little more, just for messing around with. I'm leaving the shutter at 100 and the lens is at 2.8 .

    Nice one
    Brian.

If you don't mind a bit of noise, and have CS2, the Shadow/Highlight function is quite handy.
