I just use this one, I find it quite good apart from the million "what camera should I get?!?!" threads

Sometimes I think the critique can be a little softer than it should be..

I think there's a nice sense of community, even though I'm not in it yet...

None!!! I will float about in the flickr groups when it's quiet in here, but that can hardly be classed as cheating...

There is a lower ratio of 'I think I'm better than the rest of you' type w****rs here than anywhere I've known previously, and considered since. The critique is fairly lacking in depth and as mentioned, there are a gazillion 'what digital camera should I buy for €200' threads but the social aspect makes it better by far.

Maybe we could make a bit more effort with the c&c, to be critical without just ripping something to shreds, and instead of posting 5 'nice shot' comments, post one thoughtful one...?

i don't contribute to any other forum than here I do look at others sometimes but never tempted to post - although some stuff i've asked here hasn't been answered, i dunno does that qualify as being ignored/boring/yawn!! whatever! maybe people don't have an answer or cant be bothered!
anyway sometimes it can be a bit frustrating.

I agree with elvin, the mutual admiration can come on a bit heavy at times but i see where it's coming from - it's people being considerate and encouraging rather than sledgehammer honesty, i suppose you’d need to know who would benefit from constructive criticism and those who might perceive it as destructive criticism we've had both extremes here in the past and I guess it's hard to get an even balance.
Still i think this forum is pretty good all round - so we all must be doing something right eh?
    :)

I put down fred miranda and photography ireland ,but I only gander at them and don't post or anything.

I find it funny on some sites ,people praise each other for taking the camera out of the bag .I find people here more discerning towards each other ,unlike any other website I've seen.

    Good folks here.

Fredmiranda and a few surf photography forums
If you think heavy handed C&C is lacking you obviously didn't see my Hurling photos thread :D

So what questions do you want answered Fionn?

Mainly here and photography-ireland, and occasional bouts of flickr-ing. I've a member account set up at a few other fora but wouldn't be a regular poster.
