Canon Eos 3000V Problems

    Hey guys,

I've got a Canon EOS 3000V but don't have a manual or anything so I'm pretty lost. Alot of the time, it won't actually let me take a photo. Like, I'll press the button and it won't take one. Or I'll press it half way ( so it auto focusses ) and it'll make some lame attempt at focussing which is actually totally out of focus.

Or, if it's dark, the flash bulb thing will pop up ready to flash so the photo will look alright, and it'll just keep flashing everytime you press the button but never actually take a photo.

I haven't done anything to it. It's been sitting in its bag since before christmas when it worked fine. I might have pressed some buttons the camera itself by mistake. Are you able to restore to factory settings or reset these or anything? Thanks

If you switch it to manual settings, in daylight, choose 125 and f5.6, and switch the lens to manual, can you take a shot then?

Sounds like you have turned onmanual focus on the lens. There are tow settings on a small button on the lens AF/MF auto focus and manual focus. If you are set to MF then it cant get a picture and is too smart to take it. Switch the button to AF. Alternatively set the camera to auto (green square on the dial I think) put it it a flat surface like an outdoor table i.e. plenty of light . Focus on something either auto or manual and try and take a picture. If still not working report back.

Cheers, I've checked and it is set to AF on the little switch on the camera lens. I've always just used auto focus (the green box, cause I've just started) and it usually worked fine.

I'll try that stuff in the daytime tomorrow, too dark now unfortunately.

Currently, I can turn it on to the auto focus option, get it to focus a little bit (not very well), and then click the button to take a photo, except all that happens is the flash bulb thing pops up and nothing happens. I must have buggered something up
